“The orator yields to the inspiration of a transient occasion, and speaks to the mob before him, to those who can hear him; but the writer, whose more equable life is his occasion, and who would be distracted by the event and the crowd which inspire the orator, speaks to the intellect and health of mankind, to all in any age who can understand him.
No wonder that Alexander carried the Iliad with him on his expeditions in a precious casket. A written word is the choicest of relics. It is something at once more intimate with us and more
universal than any other work of art. It is the work of art nearest to life itself. It may be translated into every language, and not only be read but actually breathed from all human lips; — not be represented on canvas or in marble only, but be carved out of the breath of life itself. The symbol of an ancient man’s thought becomes a modern man’s speech.”
-Henry Thoreau
Seminars give you the strength of networks, the power of interactions, and the presence of speakers. Group events are essential to individual success, as there is only so much you can learn and do alone.
Yet, without preliminary self-growth, group workshops are mere pump-up sessions or, even worst, addictions. It is easy to feel good from an event—you meet new people, learn new strategies, and talk new plans. But, without self-reflection and self-action, everything else is meaningless.
This is why most people continue to fail, despite all the great seminars, events, and books in the world. In this age of advertisement and consumerism, people think they can buy the things they need to be. So they spend their lives having more and more, and being less and less.
The 7 Hour School Week is not another self-help book. It is the education standard. It is a book to end reading and listening to other people, so you can start doing and thinking for yourself.
The 7 Hour School shows you exactly how to create your own mastermind groups, seminar sessions, and knowledge database. It is not a book about me. It is journal about you.
Seminars
Seminars are available for high school, college, corporations, non-profits, and any organization that want higher performance, greater productivity, and better lifestyle. Please look at the Table of Contents of the 7 Hour School Week for any topics you want me to focus on. I no longer do seminars on speed reading, test performance, or technological productivity, as they are free online already.
Seminar prices are based on hourly fees, rather than group size. The price is the same for 5 people as for 5,000. Pro-bono seminars are available for organizations that need it (crisis centers, juvenile halls, and hospitals).
