- What is the best browser to view your website?
- Firefox, due to the add-ons.
- What browser and add-on tools do you use?
- I love Firefox due to its add-ons. Firefox has built in bookmark tagging, smart search, and shortcut keys. I do everything on one active browser, with multiple main tabs and sub-tabs.
Jimmyr has a brilliant video about how to maximize Firefox 3, called “Why Firefox 3 is Awesome and how to make it better”
iMacros automates your work. The program records repetitious tasks and automatically does the work for you, such as visiting sites, filling forms, and remembering passwords.
Tree Style Tabs organizes your tabs vertically, lets you expand and close sub tabs, and hides the tab to maximize window real estate.
FireGestures allows you to execute commands and user scripts with simple mouse gestures.
QuickDrag has simple drag-and-drop mouse gestures to load URLs (highlight the URL and drag), do an automatic web search on words (highlight the text and drag, and a new window of search results pops up), or save an image (highlight image and drag).
FavLoc allows you to instantly save files to your favorite locations. This add-on saves hours in browsing for the right folders and loading the folder data. The current drawback is that you cannot rename your folder, so choose the original folder names carefully!
NoScript is the best security program for your browser. You can automatically disable all active scripts to prevent any XSS and Clickjacking attacks. You can easily allow active content from secure sites you trust.
Web of Trust, WOT, warns you against risky websites. It uses simple color-coded icons-green for go, yellow for caution, red for stop-to avoid any dangerous sites.
Video DownloadHelper allows you to download video, music, and galleries from hundreds of Youtube-like site. It converts the online streaming data to full files on your computer, so you can enjoy your multimedia anytime!
BugMeNot allows you to bypass web registration for sites you do not want to belong to.
- How do I get the most out of this website?
- Subscribe to the book and complete your 30 Day Challenge.
Start with just 15 minutes a day to change your life. Commit 5-10 minutes to learn each day’s knowledge, and 5-10 minutes to take action!
You will grow exponentially through your experiences. Share your success stories, your questions, and your comments.
Leverage the time saved, money earned, and performance increased to invest in your own education and experiences.
Most of all, teach others what you have learned. Help them make their dreams come true.
- Do you plan to add more community features to your site?
- Yes! Please feel free to add any suggestions you have on this section, such as Web 2.0 tools, open-source platforms, and other free software.
Currently, I use Google Friend Connect, ShareThis, and Aweber Autoresponder due to their simplicity and reliability (copy and paste the html). I am always open to experiment with other tools.
- Is there a web forum on your site?
- No. The blog posts, page comments, and questions serve as my web forum. This open discussion allows the same interactivity as a web forum, but without any of the drawbacks (the irrelevant messages, the flame wars, and the spam).
- Who designed the website?
- Mark, from Xillent Studios, designed and programmed the website. John Pol, who created many of my logos, suggested the outstanding table of content and currently reading feature. Haruka Ito, Japan’s top student blogger, gave me the inspiration to stat my own website and blog.
I spent over 200 hours researching and teaching myself the basic of websites, design, and user-interface. I had to learn enough to know what I liked, what my target audience liked, and how to communicate the design ideas to a professional. I talked (emailed the same template requirements) to over 15 design firms before choosing Xillent, due to their local area, their successful MMA websites, and their 5 step workflow process.
This website is a template for all my other websites. This functioning site is about sharing a story, rather than about showing a design.
I do appreciate all your ideas about ways to improve the site, as everything must always evolve.
- What other features do you plan to add to the website?
- I look forward to creating a productivity tool (project management, social networking, local search, user reviews, and automatic matching based on calendar time, personal location, and current priorities) based on the 7-Hour School Week’s Human Standard Profile. I want to start this project in 2011, as I finish up the final program, Book III: The 336.
